Seattle Study Tour – TBS Aerospace MBA PT12 & Aerospace MBA India – TBS & IIMB – April 23-27, 2018

Every year, an optional seminar in Seattle (WA, USA) is proposed as part of the Aerospace MBA program (the latter being delivered in Toulouse or in Bangalore).  A special schedule has been prepared by Aerospace MBA team for the Delegates of the Aerospace MBA PT12 cohort accompanied by Mrs. Marie Baudoin as well as for Delegates from the TBS-IIMB joint Aerospace MBA program accompanied by IIMB program director Prof. S. Raghunath and Madan Mohan Raj, Head of Executive Education programs.

On April 23rd, 2018, after a welcome breakfast, a first session took place at CoMotion Center, University of Washington. Mrs Melissa UNDERHILL, Senior Manager at The Boeing Company shared her expertise with the audience in a very instructive and interactive manner.

Right after lunch, the entire Delegation drove to Microsoft for a thrilling visit. Very well organized by Microsoft and especially Mr. Olivier FONTANA, this tour included presentations, visit of “The Garage”, hands on and many interactions about the latest tech and their possible impact on the aerospace industry.

 

 

 

 

On April 24, 2018 the Aerospace MBA Delegation did a tour at Boeing FAL and enjoyed a lecture by one of our most distinguished Aerospace MBA Alumni, Mike DELANEY who has been appointed Vice President, Digital Transformation at Boeing Commercial Airplanes. What a fantastic visit!

In the afternoon, Ben Hempstead, Chief of Staff at ElectroImpact welcomed the cohort and shared his views and practices in a flat organization in Aerospace. Many lessons learnt have been drawn from the discussions. Ben is not only passionate about his company and the sector, but he is truly committed to close management, respectful while engaging. He’s sharing his views on TEDx.

On April 25, 2018, the Aerospace MBA Delegation did visit two Tier One to Boeing: ZodiacAerospace and Safran Landing Systems. Beyond the presentations, the Delegation much appreciated the interaction, Q&A and the ability to better understand the stakes surrounding the relative products & services.

On April 26, 2018, Dr. Sophie LEROY, Associate Professor at University of Washington Bothell did a very appreciated lecture about business ethics.

Last on April 27, 2018, Michel MERLUZEAU, Director Aerospace Market Analysis at AirInsightResearch finally presented a well-documented overview of latest trends and facts reshaping the entire industry.
