Montreal, QC, Canada – May 2019 – Specialized Track “Aviation Management”

In May 2019, took place the  Specialized Track on “Aviation Management” in Montreal (QC, Canada) in UQAM facilities. This Specialized track offers 60 hours (face to face teaching, i.e. 4 ECTS credits) including an on-field visit (Bombardier/Airbus, ICAO, IATA).

The aerospace industry has witnessed an impressive growth worldwide during the past few years, with major contribution from the civil aviation segment. In the same time, the structure of the entire industry (airlines, manufacturers, lessors, MRO…) has been tremendously modified. This Specialized Track aims at providing knowledge, tools and techniques allowing participants to leverage the changes as well as to participate in Aviation business. In particular, Delegates study the fundamentals about the airport industry and air navigation services and how they interlink with the airline industry and aircraft manufacturing. They also study air transport industry trends and current airline management practices (liberalization and deregulation, business models, revenue management, the underlying characteristics of profitable airlines or sustainability). We make an overview of safety and security issues in the aerospace industry and how it affects airports and the air transport sector from various cultural perspectives, both national and organizational. Finally, participants analyze the Aircraft Operating Lease Industry, demonstrating the benefits of lease transactions for both the lessor and lessee.

When attending this specialized track, Delegates and participants:

• Understand the leasing industry, the benefits of an operating lease and the main issues in airlines financing.
• Have the ability to integrate airline management concepts into a fully integrated and coherent business plan and the ability to present a coherent airline business plan to potential stakeholders.
• Get a good understanding of safety and security management.
• Have the fundamentals to know more about the airport industry and air navigation services and how they interlink with the airline industry and aircraft manufacturing.
• Use information and data to better understand the airlines profitability and pricing strategies.
