March 2019 – A new step ahead in AerospaceMBA: Specialized Track “Space Business & Applications”

Out of all the changes and improvements introduced this year in the program, Specialized Tracks are probably one of the most iconic one. Indeed, based on discussions with Alumni, our Academic & Steering Committees, our continuous contacts with the Industry & the stakeholders, it appears that Delegates were eager to have more time dedicated to specialized content in the frame of the Aerospace MBA. Hence, instead of 6 x 15 hours (90 hrs) multiple specializations in the previous curriculum, it has been decided to offer a consistent new content with significantly more hours dedicated the 3 specializations :

  • Space Business & Applications (managed by Prof. Victor Dos Santos Paulino)
  • Aviation Management
  • Aerospace Value Chain

Each of these tracks offer 60 hours (face to face teaching, i.e. 4 ECTS credits), extending tremendously the time spent and deepening the content delivered.

The Space Business & Applications track covers the main opportunities and threats for both New Space and Main Space activities.

This specialized track is designed and coordinated by an academic supervisor. The latter benefits from an Advisory Board (consisting in Experts and Leaders from the Industry) providing scientific and pedagogical support.

This Specialized track has been designed in collaboration with the SIRIUS Chair. SIRIUS is a business and research chair based on an original partnership between three leading operators in the global space sector (CNES, Airbus Defense and Space and Thales Alenia Space) and two respected higher education institutions (Toulouse Business School and Toulouse 1 Capitol University).

The specialists, experts, business leaders lecturing in the program are coming from CNES (French Space Agency, Euroconsult, AerospaceValley…).

This track provides skills to the participants in the following areas:

  • Understand space business and its complex value chain
  • Elaborate innovation strategies
  • Conduct a dynamic market analysis
  • Taking part in partnership in space
  • Understand the legal aspects of space
  • Be involved in Defense acquisition
  • Elaborate scenarios of possible future
